Westchester Environmental LLC provides Indoor Air Quality Studies and Sick Building Syndrome consulting services. These Studies are conducted to identify a host of conditions under which indoor air quality adversely affects the health of building occupants.
Symptoms experienced by building occupants may range from eye and respiratory irritations to headaches, malaise, nausea, hypersensitivity and variety of diseases. Many of these symptoms may have non-environmental as well as environmental causes. Nonetheless, we believe that an overall evaluation of the property is the appropriate first step for developing a viable remediation plan.
The evaluation will comprise of a property historical review, interview of building occupants and a walkthrough inspection to evaluate general ventilation systems and patterns and potential sources of airborne contaminants in areas of concern.
Based on the findings of the initial walk through, indoor air will be sampled at appropriate locations to determine levels of environmental indicators (e.g. temperature, relative humidity, and moisture content), indicator gases (e.g. carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, and hydrocarbons), particulate matter, mold and dust.
The objective of the evaluation is to identify or eliminate possible contaminants and understand how they may be transported throughout the affected areas. A report will be prepared detailing the findings.
